Nate Romero

Founder & Executive Director

As the founder of CLiR, Nate leads the firm’s consulting and investment banking activities.

Before founding CLiR in 2020, Nate was Managing Director and Head of Sales and Marketing at Evolv Capital Partners, a third-party distribution and marketing firm whose clients included Gladstone, CIM Group, OFS Capital, and AmCap Management. At Evolv, he helped lead the sales team through multiple capital raises of non-traded preferred stock offerings and acquired his investment banking license to focus more closely on product development.

Nate began working with alternative investments—including REITs, BDCs, and oil and gas programs—as Regional Vice President for the Southeast at Realty Capital Securities.

A career in financial services.

Before moving into alternative investments, Nate began his wholesaling career in 2010 in MetLife’s Investors Annuity Division. He helped run an independent broker-dealer territory that sold more than $270 million of variable annuities in 2011.

Nate comes from a family with a long history in financial services and entered the family business with LPL Financial in 2006.

A California native, Nate graduated cum laude from Chapman University, where he met his wife, Abbie. They live in Denver with their two dogs.
